AIM
As the Department of Forest Engineering, our aim is to maintain a contemporary education and training of national and international quality, to raise unique individuals who provide sustainable management of forest resources, think and interpret events in multi-dimensional terms, have high scientific ethical values and are socially responsible, and to develop scientific research to achieve universal science and to contribute to implementation.
Goal
The aim of the Forest Engineering Department Master's and Doctoral Program; Being knowledgeable and able to generate ideas about the sustainable management of forest resources, having comprehensive knowledge on issues related to the field of expertise in line with the program objectives, being able to apply scientific research methods and techniques, information and communication technologies in the field where he/she works, being able to conduct scientific research, collect data, analyze, build and interpret models. ability to identify forest and environmental problems nationally and internationally, communicate and produce solutions, question, research, self-improve, think analytically and design, identify problems related to the field of expertise, develop alternative solution proposals, methods/theories, make strategic decisions. able to give, interpret, present, publish and discuss, follow technological, social or cultural developments, contribute to the process of becoming an information society, communicate with the society and have the ability to create social awareness, be able to work in teams and collaborate across disciplines, act independently and lead when necessary. To train Forestry Engineers, scientific experts and Doctorates who have social, environmental, scientific, cultural and professional ethical values.
GRADUATION CONDITIONS
In order to obtain the title of forestry engineer and master's degree/to complete the program, there are end-of-term exams at the end of each semester and usually immediately following the end of the semester. After spending at least 2 semesters of coursework, graduate students are required to prepare a master's thesis in line with their field of expertise and study subject, which will last a maximum of 4 semesters, and at the end of the thesis, they must be successful in the thesis defense exam held by a jury of at least three faculty members
In order to obtain the title of doctor of science and doctorate degree in the field of Forest Engineering and to complete the program, there are end-of-term exams at the end of each semester and usually immediately following the end of the semester. After spending at least 2 semesters of coursework, PhD students are required to prepare a doctoral thesis that will last 6 semesters in line with their field of expertise and study subject, and at the end of the thesis, they must be successful in the thesis defense exam held by a jury of five faculty members.
