What is MÜDEK?
MÜDEK stands for Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association.
MÜDEK is a non-governmental organization that operates with the aim of contributing to raising the quality of engineering education in Turkey by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information activities for engineering education programs in different disciplines.
What is the purpose of MÜDEK?
The purpose of MÜDEK is to contribute to raising the quality of engineering education in Türkiye by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information activities for engineering education programs in different disciplines, thus ensuring the advancement of the welfare of society by training better-educated and more qualified engineers who understand current and developing technologies.
History of MÜDEK
It started evaluating engineering programs in 2003,
became a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) in 2006,
gained legal personality on January 25, 2007, by transforming into a non-governmental organization called the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association, continuing to use the short name MÜDEK,
was recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on November 16, 2007, as a national quality assurance organization focused on national, sectoral and program competencies in engineering programs of higher education institutions,
was authorized by ENAEE to give the EUR-ACE label to the engineering education programs it will accredit from January 21, 2009, and
was accepted as a full signatory member of the IEA (International Engineering Alliance) Washington Accord from June 15, 2011. What is MÜDEK Accreditation?
It is an International Education Equivalency/Recognition certificate issued by MÜDEK (Turkish Engineering Education Accreditation Board) as a result of engineering programs applying for accreditation meeting the criteria determined by MÜDEK.
